The CAA Back App: Your Pocket Chiropractor

While we all have the best of intentions when it comes to our health and activity levels, it’s all too easy to fall into bad habits.

A bit of gentle encouragement never hurt anyone.

That’s why to launch this year’s ‘Back Your Inner Athlete’ Campaign held during Spinal Health Week (23-29 May), the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (CAA) has developed a CAA Back App, the closest thing to having a chiropractor with you 24/7.

The CAA Back App, which acts like your pocket chiropractor, will be released on 23 May 2016.

It can be downloaded free from www.backyourinnerathlete.com.au, Apple App Store or Google Play.

As you go about your day, it sends subtle reminders about checking your posture, activity levels, water consumption and movement.

Its state of the art ‘augmented reality’ feature animates when hovered over Spinal Health Week postcards, which are free from your local CAA Chiropractor.

This shows users the correct posture they should maintain in everyday situations.

“A healthy spine is essential to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle and chiropractors can help patients achieve this through a skilled approach to treatment and prevention,” said Dr Tay from Discover Chiropractic Ballina.

“The CAA Back App is like a mobile chiropractor, checking in on you throughout the day.”

“The augmented reality feature is something rather special that works in conjunction with the educational postcards developed by the CAA.

We hope people enjoy using this interactive technology to improve their posture, which in turn can help improve their health,” added Dr Tay (Chiropractor).

Don’t let Life be a Pain in the Neck

Back pain and neck pain are real issues for Australians with back pain ranking as the third most common reason for absenteeism at work.

“The chiropractic approach is to manage the cause rather than treat the symptom,” said Dr Tay (Chiropractor).

“As part of Spinal Health Week, we’re encouraging people to check their posture.

The CAA has a wealth of information available online to help people ‘back their inner athlete’, reduce pain, improve posture and activate performance.

“This includes the CAA Back app – one tool in a large arsenal designed to educate about the benefits of good spinal health to help people achieve peak performance,” said Dr Tay (Chiropractor).

“Adopting healthy habits today, such as improving postural fitness, can significantly reduce the risk of injury or pain in later years.”

This Spinal Health Week, download the CAA Back App from www.backyourinnerathlete.com.au, Apple’s App Store or Google Play and make an appointment at Discover Chiropractic Ballina or Byron Bay for a spinal health check to see how you can Back Your Inner Athlete.
