7 Steps to Wellness

Wellness 7 Ways

Good health is your natural state.

Your body has the ability to provide you with good health, however, there are some essential elements in life that make that job easier for your body.

Your life should be long and full of happiness, excitement, fulfilment and joy.

But sometimes these feeling are missing, because we have not been giving our bodies what it needs.

Wellness is missing!

Here is 7 Solutions to Achieving Wellness

1. Stay Subluxation Free

The Chiropractic profession has discovered that structural distortions within the spine, call subluxations, can cause serious health problems.

Subluxations stress your nervous system and interfere with communications between organs, muscles, glands and other body parts – including your brain.

There are three main causes of subluxations:

  • Physical trauma
  • Emotional causes
  • Chemical insult

Subluxations can be caused by any trauma including slips and falls, accidents, a difficult birth, emotional upset, chemical toxicity from smoking, drugs and food intolerances, overwork or a combination of any of these factors.

Subluxations are epidemic in our community. Most people have subluxations and don’t even know it.

For that reason everyone needs periodic check-ups with a chiropractor to help achieve wellness.

2. Keep Hydrated

Water is essential for your body everyday.

Drinking good quality spring water or filtered water is very good for you and necessary to prevent numerous illnesses and to maintain good health and wellness.

Drinking alcohol, coffee, sugary soft drinks and even distilled water actually will dehydrate the system.

Dehydration has been linked to depression, high blood pressure, disc problems, vision problems, fatigue, exhaustion and many other health problems.

3. Eat Nutrient Dense Food

Nutrient dense food is those foods that have an abundance of essential vitamins and minerals that are necessary for your body to function.

Alternatively, there is a vast array of nutrient poor foods that area sold everywhere that will in fact result in nutritional deficiencies.

Highly processed or “junk food” manufactured with sugars, high fructose corn syrups, fats and highly refined floors will result in negative nutritional value.

Nutrient dense foods include healthy nuts and seeds, organic fruit and vegetables such as blueberries, kale, broccoli, and organic meat, to name a few.

4. Stay Physically Active

Your body is made to move – so don’t stop.

Good exercise makes your heart, lungs and other internal organs healthy and will lengthen your life and lead you on the path to wellness.

It is important to do both strength training, with weights, as well as cardiovascular fitness.

Most importantly, find a form of fitness that you love and enjoy doing, that way you will be inclined to follow through and exercise regularly.

As little as 15 minutes of intensive exercise per day is effective for weight loss, strength and heart health.

Remember to fit in incidental exercise as well, such as hanging up the washing rather than using the drier. Or park 2 blocks away from work and enjoy the extra walk.

5. Sleep Is Not Over-Rated!

Sleep is another essential ingredient for good health and wllness.

Insufficient sleep has been implicated in everything from cardiovascular diseases to obesity and impaired immune repose.

Getting anywhere between 6 to 8 hours of sleep per night is a good remedy to allow your body to shut down and have some much needed healing time.

6. Enjoy Beneficial Relationships

This is perhaps the most important aspect of life and of health.

The science of psychoneuroimmunology confirms what common sense tells us: people in healthy relationships are better off.

People in committed relationships live longer and are healthier. People who feel disconnected from other are sicker and die younger. Nourish deeper connections to family, friends and co-workers.

7. Connect To Your Spiritual Side

Your spirit, heart and soul need to be exercised just like your body.

Stay connected with your religious beliefs or faith, for good emotional support.

Meditate, pray, sit in the company of wise men and women and explore life’s mysteries.

Open your heart to life’s possibilities. Discover the excitement of being alive.
